Star Student
Each week a student in our class will be featured as the Star Student. He/She will bring home a worksheet on Friday to complete over the weekend and return to school on Monday. Their information will be displayed on a poster throughout the week and the child will be provided with an opportunity to share it with the class. As a special treat they may also bring in 1-2 items for show and tell to share with the class on Monday.

Ellie
Every weekend one student will have the opportunity to take home our class mascot, Ellie the Elephant. She will be sent home with a short writing assignment that is due the following Monday.
Pen Pals
This year our class will be writing and receiving letters back and forth with a 2nd grade class in New Mexico! This will help them with their writing skills, along with allowing them to learn about another culture and see the differences in another state.
